RRV Red Wines
Such a beautiful vineyard lying on the South Eastern side of the Russian River Valley. Heavy clay soils give this wine such great minerality and a velvety texture. Full sun exposure allows for wonderful ripe fruit characteristics. Drink now or hold for 5-7 years.
Austin Vineyards was planted by winemaker Anthony Austin in 2005 to an array Dijon Clones of Pinot Noir, 114, 115, 777 & 828. Settled on a hill top in the small town of Occidental in a warm banana belt these grapes are exposed to an ideal climate for growing the most concentrated wine grapes.
Our Petite Sirah is grown in rocky soils at about 1,000 ft. elevation. The higher the elevation, the warmer it is during the day and the more stress is put on the vines. Stress is good in this case - the more stress, the more complex and concentrated flavors the wine exudes. This Petite Sirah completely expresses where it is grown with its amazing complexity and concentrated fruit. You will be greeted with wonderful flavors of dark berries and a hint of tobacco on the nose and a soft, yet powerful finish.
Enjoy this wine with a heartier dish, such as braised short ribs or a mushroom risotto.
Drink now or hold for another 5-10 years.
A hugely aromatic wine with notes of blueberry, blackberry, and spice. A smooth but strong, prevalent texture with elegant balance. Appian Way vineyard sits in an ideal growing location, with well-drained goldridge soil allowing roots to flourish, producing remarkably consistent high quality fruit. Drink it now or in 5 to 7 years. This Pinot Noir will have you at first sip, with its rich, bright fruit.
