2018 Pinot Noir | Burke Family Vineyard
At first inhale, touches of earth, spice and a hint of smoky aromas fill the nose. Traces of caramel, fig, blackberry and cherry linger not too far behind. Slivers of fig and tobacco contribute lovely earthy notes, making the aroma of this wine both interesting and unique.
The source vines are also spaced very tightly, causing the plants to deepen their roots to compete for nutrients. This creates fewer grapes, but a more concentrated crop. The palette on this wine is extremely lush, vibrant, and floral.
Upon drinking, a bouquet of fresh herbs and flowers coats the tongue. The creaminess and richness of the fruit and vanilla tones are complemented by accents of vanilla from the oak barrels. This wine has an unbelievable balance to it, and makes for a lovely, elegant taste delight.
