The Burke Family Vineyard sits in a valley floor vineyard nestled in the Sebastopol Hills Region of the Russian River Valley. With tightly spaced vines encouraging root propagation in sandy, loamy soil, this vineyard produces rich, dark fruit that results in bold, concentrated aromas of blackberry and black cherry with subtle hints of herb.

One of Gio’s favorite vineyards, Emma’s is one he drives by on the way to his daughter’s school. He took over farming the vineyard in 2019. Planted in 1998 to Dijon clones in prized Goldridge soils, it faces west and is organically farmed. For this vintage, he chose all clone 667, from the top of the hill, overlooking an apple orchard.

Often described as velvety or satin-like on the palate, the 2021 Bacigalupi Pinot Noir’s profile showcases a delicate balance of flavorful fruit notes like ripe raspberry, red cherry, dark plum, and pomegranate melding with intriguing nuances of ruby grapefruit peel, white pepper, nutmeg, and a touch of bittersweet chocolate.
